About

An educational library on homeowner finance

Money Minded Media publishes plain-language guides on the financial side of owning a home. Our aim is to help you understand how things typically work, so that you can have clearer, better-prepared conversations with the licensed professionals who can advise on your situation.

What we publish

Our guides cover subjects such as mortgage structures, home equity options, property taxes and assessments, homeowners insurance, credit and the rate environment. Each explains how the subject generally works, where the trade-offs usually sit and which questions may be worth raising with a lender, insurer or tax professional.

Our calculators illustrate how balance, rate and term interact using only the numbers you type in. They run in your browser and are designed to show patterns, not to predict an offer.

How we write

We write in measured, plain language and avoid hype. Financial outcomes depend on individual circumstances, so we describe what may happen, what often happens and what typically applies, rather than making promises.

We do not publish interest rates, payments, fees or other specific credit terms. Those change constantly and depend on the lender and the borrower, so we explain how such figures are built and leave the numbers to you and to the professionals who can quote them.

Rules, programmes and tax treatment change. Our guides are general education, and anything that affects a decision should be confirmed with a licensed professional.
